Technology

In this section i will cover all the newest technologies and trending gadgets. The world of tech is always evolving, and each new year comes with all sorts of innovations and breakthroughs from some of the coolest and most prestigious companies in the world. The biggest names in tech are looking to dazzle consumers with the latest revolutionary technologies.

Virtual reality headset

Virtual Reality (VR)

Virtual Reality (VR) is a computer technology that simulates the physical presence of a user in a virtual world generated by a computer, game console or smartphone and in which the user can evolve and interact with the elements that make up this universe. Since then, the research carried out around VR has continued to develop the possibilities offered by this technology and this in all areas known to our society: leisure with video games, but also in health, safety, security education or architecture. The media, for their part, has become increasingly important to VR, relaying innovations and new products, while high-tech manufacturers and brands are taking over the subject, making the market more accessible to consumers and faster innovation.

Augmented Reality (AR)

Defining augmented reality (RA) is not so simple! Indeed, it is a transversal domain that uses many different technologies. The very term "augmented reality", which appeared with reference to that of "virtual reality", is more and more questioned. This is quite understandable since it is not the "reality" that is increased but rather our own perception. Augmented reality is often confused with virtual reality. Virtual reality immerses us totally in another world by using a helmet. Augmented reality confines itself, much less since it incorporates virtual elements in our real environment. Viewers see, for example, every day on television when they watch the weather. Two applications have fully democratized on smartphone: Pokemon Go, downloaded 650 million times around the world or Snapchat, and its filters that turn us into cute little dogs. There are more and more applications that use this technology, for example you can already identify the stars by pointing your smartphone to the sky, see what you would look like with a bangs or shaved head before going under the scissors of the hairdresser or even test if the sofa of a certain Swedish brand would go well in your living room. In the future, the augmented reality will be integrated in the breeze parries of the cars, in the shop windows, to see directly in our eyes via lenses but it is not yet for immediately.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) consists of implementing a number of techniques to enable machines to imitate a form of real intelligence. AI is implemented in a growing number of application domains.

Artificial vision, for example, allows the machine to accurately determine the content of an image and then classifies it automatically according to the object, color or face that is located.

The algorithms are able to optimize their calculations as they perform treatments. This is how spam filters become more and more efficient as the user identifies an unwanted message or, on the contrary, processes false positives.

Speech recognition is on the rise with virtual assistants able to transcribe the words formulated in natural language and then process the requests either by answering directly via a speech synthesis, or with an instant translation or by making a request relating to the command .

As the evolution of this work progresses, artificial intelligence goes from a simple generic sculpin to an automatic fund management system in finance, an aid to diagnosis in medicine, a risk assessment in the field of bank loans. or insurance or a decision ally on the military field.

While in 2015 the artificial intelligence market was worth $ 200 million, it is estimated that in 2025, it will amount to nearly $ 90 billion.

Drones

It's probably only a matter of time (a decade or two) before you lift your head to see drones of delivery busy in the skies. Already, the surprise announcement made in December 2013 by Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon's e-commerce giant, about his interest in drone delivery has made many CEOs dream.

There is also development of taxi drones which is currently generating a lot of enthusiasm, with more than a dozen projects. The idea that we can one day move in such devices to make short trips from one point to another of a city still seems difficult to consider. However, companies as powerful as Airbus, Boeing or Uber are working and devote significant resources.

It is the urban transport of the future that is taking shape before us, clean and less noisy we are assured. The question is no longer to know "if" but rather "when" services of drone taxis will emerge, the main obstacle to rapid deployment being more legal than technical. To get a better idea of the forces involved, we have made a non-exhaustive selection of the most advanced projects.

The Chinese firm Ehang has recently made talk about it being a priori the first to perform tests of passenger transport autonomy with two UAV taxis, one single-seater, the other two-seater. In all, some forty people have already flown on board these aircraft.
