Video games have been around since the early 70's and have been constantly evolving. In this section i will be covering all the top trending games and new releases. Nowadays the video game industry is bigger than ever and people actually pay to watch others play on Twitch. There are also Esports which has been trending for a couple of years. The are several huge events that take place everywhere on the planet.
VR and AR
Augmented reality (AR) gaming is another trend to watch out for. Unlike VR games that require a confined area to create an immersive gaming environment, AR will create an immersive environment within the gamer’s existing environment. AR has experienced some explosive growth in the recent past thanks to games like Pokémon GO, but we can expect even bigger AR games as well as overall improvement of the AR technology in the future.
With the rise of technology and always improving graphics, there is still a constant interest in retro gaming. Statistics tend to show that mostly generation xers brought back this trend from probably a nostalgia feeling, but more and more millennials are falling in love with this type on gaming even though if they didn't grow up with these kinds of games.
The NES Classic Mini and SNES Classic Mini have sold like hot cakes so much that it is very hard to find in stores. Even though there is still no release date, if nintendo follows the same trend, you can expect to see the Classic mini 64 around end of 2018.
While still nothing official has been announced, it is safe to say that classic games such as Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Banjo and Kazooie, Goldeneye 64, Mario kart 64 will be part of the lot.
With the rise of smartphones, it is no surprise that mobile gaming is growing every year and there is no sign that it will slow down soon. Before it was more games for kids but now more and more gen Xers and even Baby Boomers. Since 2016, mobile gaming is the new leader as for the global market users.
